Emir of Lapai Pays Courtesy Visit to PTDF Executive Secretary, Commends Fund's Role in Human Capital Development

The Emir of Lapai, His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Bago Tafida III, on Tuesday, June 3, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Professor Shuaibu Shehu Aliyu, at the Fund's headquarters in Abuja.

Welcoming the Emir and his entourage, the Executive Secretary expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed PTDF's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote human capital development and national progress.

Speaking on behalf of the Lapai Emirate Council and the people of Lapai, the Emir congratulated Professor Aliyu on his appointment as Executive Secretary of PTDF, describing it as a testament to his outstanding track record, dedication, and wealth of experience.

> “Your appointment is a clear testament to your outstanding track record, dedication, and the wealth of experience you bring to the table. We are confident that under your visionary leadership, PTDF will reach new heights in fulfilling its mandate to build capacity, drive innovation, and domesticate technology within the Nigerian oil and gas sector,” the Emir stated.

The Emir also commended PTDF's significant contributions to educational and technological development in Nigeria, noting that the Lapai Emirate Council remains deeply interested in initiatives that advance youth development and human capital growth.

In response, Professor Aliyu thanked the Emir and the Lapai Emirate Council for the visit and goodwill, assuring them of PTDF's continued commitment to developing indigenous capacity and supporting initiatives that contribute to national development.

The visit concluded with the presentation of gift from the Emirate , symbolizing the cordial relationship between the Lapai Emirate and the Petroleum Technology Development Fund.
