The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) co-sponsored and actively participated in the 3rd African Petroleum Producers’ Organisation (APPO) Directors Forum, held in collaboration with the NNPC Research, Technology and Innovation (RTI) Directorate and APPO.
The forum convened directors and senior representatives from APPO member countries, providing a strategic platform for dialogue on strengthening institutional collaboration, advancing innovation, and deepening regional integration within Africa’s petroleum sector.
A major highlight of the programme was the visit to several innovation centres and technology hubs, where participants engaged with emerging technologies and practical solutions driving transformation across the energy value chain. These engagements underscored the growing importance of research, innovation, and technology in enhancing efficiency and sustainability within the industry.
The forum also featured technical and policy-focused working sessions that addressed key themes including energy transition, capacity development, investment opportunities, and harmonisation of policies to unlock Africa’s hydrocarbon potential.
Through its co-sponsorship and participation alongside NNPC RTI and APPO, PTDF reaffirmed its commitment to its mandate of developing human capacity and fostering strategic partnerships that support the growth and competitiveness of Nigeria and Africa’s energy sector.
The Fund remains steadfast in promoting platforms that encourage knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration among key stakeholders in the petroleum industry.
