PTDF STRENGTHENS RELATIONSHIP WITH MAJOR ACTORS IN THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY
Realising the crucial role of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers in the operations of the oil and gas industry, the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) wants a more robust relationship with the professional body in realising its objectives of local content development through human capacity building in the oil and gas industry.
Executive Secretary, PTDF, Dr. Bello Aliyu Gusau who received the National President of the Society, Professor Sam Adefila on a courtesy visit, said the attainment of local manpower for the oil and gas industry requires the co-operation and support of professional bodies such as the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, and the Fund will therefore spare no effort at strengthening collaborative activities.
“We are at a time in PTDF when we are reviewing our processes and structures, and one of the things we are trying to do is to create further and stronger linkages with actors in the industry and this is really the right time for us to commence the process with you”.
The Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers plans to host a conference on Nigerian content development as catalyst for industrialization later in the year in Port-Harcourt. The Petroleum Technology Development Fund is expected to deliver a position paper at the conference.
