Mr. Ere Iyalla of the Gas Technology Development Division, Nigerian Content and Industry Collaboration Department, PTDF has been elected chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Abuja Section. Mr. Iyalla, a Chemical Engineer was elected during the 2017 Annual General Meeting of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Abuja section held recently in Abuja.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers is the largest individual-member organization serving managers, engineers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the oil and gas industry. The SPE has more than 164, 000 members in 143 countries.
Mr. Ere Iyalla graduated in 2000 from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, where he read Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering. He also obtained an MSc in Operations and Business Management from the Glasgow Caledonian University, UK in 2010. In addition to the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), he is an active member of several associations in the oil, gas, energy and manufacturing sectors. These include the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE), USA, Institute of Operations Management, (IOM) UK, Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE), USA,amongst others.
Iyalla is a Registered Project Management Practitioner and Supply Chain professional and has worked in different organisations both in Nigeria and the UK including the Nigerian Agip Oil Company(NAOC), Nigerian Breweries PLC, Exxcell, UK.
Mr. Iyalla, an avid reader and strategy enthusiast, is married with 3 children.
PTDF is proud and excited with the emergence of one of its staff as chairman of Abuja Chapter of SPE, as this will significantly enhance the creation of strong linkages with the oil and gas industry, a major strategic objective of the Fund.
